Florida Friendly Living Green Expo 2010 - September 10th. Citrus County Extension Services is hosting a green expo to provide real solutiolns for people to live better, healthier lives with less impact on the environment. » Old World Creatures will charm residents at the Expo this year!
Florida Department of Health has issued an advisory/warning of poor levels of Fecal Coliform. Ft. Island Gulf Beach is now closed to swimming until further notice. »View the Beach water sampling results On September 9th, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is working to educate citizens in the importance of disaster preparedness. Our goal is to educate 500 citizens with disaster preparedness and response training. Citizens will learn the importance of having a survival kit and communications plan.
Join in the effort to help remove debris from our shorelines, lakes, rivers and beaches. Together, we can make a difference to conserve the natural beauty of our Citrus County waterways. The 15th Annual "Save Our Waters Week" initiative is scheduled for September 17th-25th, 2010.
Some Citrus County Firefighters will climb the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs on Sept. 11 in honor of their 343 fallen comrades who died in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
