Joyce Valentino, currently serving as Chairwoman for the Board, moved to Citrus County in 1986. Prior to being elected to office, Ms. Valentino served as President of the Heatherwood Community Homeowners Association for approximately eleven years. Her employment history included business management and she was a staff member to Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite. Since 1990 Ms. Valentino organized, attended, and participated in meetings with local, state, and federal government on issues affecting communities, natural resources, future growth and development in Citrus County.

In 2004 Ms. Valentino was elected to the Citrus County Board of County Commission for District 5. In 2007 she earned commissioner certification through the Florida Association of Counties’ Voluntary County Commission Certification Program. She serves as Chairwoman to the Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Council, Chairwoman to the Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority, and Chairwoman to the Value Adjustment Board. Commissioner Valentino also serves on the Withlacoochee Regional Planning Council.

Commissioner Valentino and her husband, Sal, have four adult children, five grandchildren and enjoy spending their leisure time together.
