Home Delivered Pet Meals
Citrus County Community Support Services has been delivering meals to the homebound since 1979. In fact, our first group of volunteers delivered only 13 meals. A lot has changed since 1979, and due to the overwhelming need for service, our agency now
provides over 400 meals on a daily
basis.
Our goal is to provide a hot, noontime meal, Monday through Friday, which meets at least 30% of the average adult daily nutritional requirements.
The vast majority of our meals are
delivered by dedicated volunteer
drivers. As an additional feature to the program, these volunteers provide a daily check on our client’s well-being. This short visit is often the highlight of an isolated and lonely  client’s day.
