Citrus County Detention Facility
 Since October 1,
1995, Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) has managed and operated the Citrus County Detention
Facility. The County's Public Safety Department Director is responsible for monitoring the operations
of CCA.
CCA, a Nashville, Tennessee based company, owns, operates, and manages correctional facilities
throughout the United States and in Australia and Europe. In Florida, CCA manages the corrections
systems in Citrus, Hernando, Bay, and Polk Counties.
